Torque effectiness

I am showing pedal smoothness and torque effectiveness, but the fields are both showing as “- -“
I am however getting balance #%- #% with numbers.

what has to happen to show PDL SMTH and TORQUE EFF?

1887614 you will need to check two things.

1) Make sure the pedals are paired via ANT+ and that you are seeing that the pedals are both paired (i.e. L/R)

Getting the balance as 50% - 50% suggests that both peddles are working.
Is there someplace to get Garmin support?

Yeah - ANT+ was good.
There was that effectiveness in the peddle itself that needed to be clicked to “on”:.

Garmin and Favero are similar. In fact, Garmin invented the Cycling Dynamics then gave it to ANT+ to be included in the ANT+ feature so any manufacturer could use it as a member of ANT+.

The button to turn on the TE, or torque effectiveness, won't be visible unless your garmin 530 is on and has recognized your pedals which must also be on and paired. Otherwise, the button to turn on TE will no be seen.

to be clear, Garmin owns ANT+

open access, but still owned by Garmin, so they didn't give it to ANT+, they added it to their protocol

...and being Clear - a Division of Garmin Canada, Inc., who acquired it from Dynastream; all discussed in a different thread. But not important to help the person who wants to know how to Turn on TE. It is interesting that Garmin seems to be consolidating many innovators into their cabal much like the recent acquisition of First Beat Analytics.

You're the one who mentioned they invented cycling dynamics, which isn't relevant either. I'm just pointing out they didn't then "give" it to ant+, they added it to a protocol which they own. No charity involved
