New Edge 1040 Series Public Beta 14.12 Now Available

A new Beta software for the Edge 1040 Series has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found in the link below.

    Despite ALL the problems I have had with the 1040, the strava live segment AND strava segment widget are both working for me with 14.12. It takes probably 20seconds for the segments to appear when opening the widget. Im not sure why garmin wouldnt precache those on the device to improve the UX, but they clearly are not doing that.

    The number of segments available to scroll also appears limited. I'm not sure how you would specify which ones it will sync and display vs all the others that it will ignore.

    My "last activity/imported" route glance is not showing the last imported route but the second last since this 14.12.

    Did someone had notification for new FTP (up or down) or new LHR with 1040?

    Since I bought it only VO2 max was changed but then again not any notification about this (I sow in the

    I just noticed yesterday that by pretty constant pace the speed is constantly jumping in +- 5 km/h ambit

    Has anybody noticed such a behaviour?

    I was seeing this on my Edge 1030 a few months ago. I have had Speed Sensor (1) for about 5 years, recently changed the battery in case that was the cause. Didn’t resolve it. After much googling, a POSSIBLE cause may have been my chain or quick-link may have become magnetised (can’t rule out as I have a magnetic “bits and pieces” tray for small screws etc, and it’s possible the chain or link had been placed in that without realising the consequences). I disconnected the speed sensor and relied on GPS speed as the jumping was annoying me. I did a 4 day cycle ride (London to Paris) couple of weeks ago with the new 1040 solar, with a new cassette and chain fitted, and no issues now although I now need to double-check i have actually got the speed sensor connected to the new head unit.

    Its my usual route and u also feel when you pedsl constant that ypur speed doesnt variate between lets say 26.9 - 34.1 like yesterdsy...maybe gps issue only yesterday?will see today
