What modifications would you like to be included in future firmware versions?

I would like to ask you what modifications of the current firmware would you like to be in the new versions? Please write a few words about how these modifications should look and function. The first modification I have in mind is the color steress score bar chart. When assessing stress after exercise, a number is shown and a marked arrow appears in a pie chart in a specific zone and color. However, all these measurement results on the bar chart are white and do not reflect the color of the zone in which the measurement result was.

  • I would like the ability to write gradient to the fit file.

  • To be able to mute radar alerts easily from drop-down menu.

  • +1

Also ability to configure Radar mute by activity

  • Apple changed hardware, thats largely recompiling existing software. Garmin rewriting software for a new OS (presumably you mean Android) would be a massive undertaking and the rewrite would cause more software bugs than they have now. If starting now no one would write their own OS (as we've seen with competitors) but changing? Thats a whole different ballgame.

  • I would like to see big direction arrows on the whole screen when navigating. I would also like to see some improvements on visuals for people that get older eyes. :-). Blinking arrow on the map when navigating would be nice. I would also like to see the functionality that I can send short message by Garmin connected with Iphone when I get sms or WhatsApp message .

  • Editable text responses - exactly like you can on a Forerunner or Fenix.

Ability to disable lap key - exactly like you can on a Forerunner or Fenix. (this results in the key just taking back to the home screen/widget loop)

(and this one will NEVER happen because it affects every Garmin device and the entire Connect platform...) Ability to set devices/gear/accessories to SPECIFIC ACTIVITY PROFILES. Example: "Gravel Biking" - I want Garmin to show increased mileage on my gravel bike. No, Garmin, I did not in fact ride my Tacx NEO2T down the side of a mountain.

Ability to shut off/ignore sensors by activity type: for outdoor biking, I don't want the Edge looking for my Tacx NEO. For indoor riding, I don't want it trying to find my Varia radar or power meter pedals.

You know what? Harmonize the UI between their wearables and Edge devices - share the code, make it consistent. It seems like their wearables are years ahead of the cycle computers.

I don't understand this one.   What am I missing?   My 530 and 1040 have an odometer per profile.  Thus, if I use the GRAVEL profile, I get an odometer tracking lifetime distance for that profile (which I only select when I am on my gravel bike).

I do recall the days when paired sensors were attached to bikes (somewhere around the 800/820, or the early years of the 2010s).  It was a bit of a paradigm shift to think of sensors not being dedicated to specific profiles.   But I don't have any issues with mixing up odometer distance by bike/profile.

  • In Garmin Connect, you can tag "Gear" (bicycles, shoes, misc) to specific activities.

For example: Trek Domane AL 5 - default for cycling.

I'd like to be able to tag a bike as "default for INDOOR cycling" and a separate bike for "Gravel Cycling". As far as I can tell, there is no way to do this. I'll concede: this is a Garmin Connect platform issue more than an Edge 1040 issue.

EDIT - oh bother - I fat-fingered my edit and reported my own post. Mods: please disregard that!

  • Option to be able to remove the virtual partner. And to remove the 2nd track when riding a course. Allow text responses for iPhones.

  • Allow text responses for iPhones.

That's an Apple limitation, not Garmin. They don't want people to have full text functionality on anything other than an AppleWatch.
