BUG: Crank based power meter Inpeak disconnecting from ANT+

I'd like to report a bug with ANT+ connection of crank based power meter from Inpeak. I noticed frequent dropouts during todays ride. Most of the ride was without any power and cadence data displayed. There were also frequent notifications about found power meter.

Garmin is configured completely from zero without any synchronization from older 820 model. There are also no additional CIQ apps installed with exception of Komoot.

My ANT+ connected devices are: Inpeak powermeter, Garmin HRM dual, Bontrager ION PRO and Bontrager Flare RT. All except powermeter worked fine with one connection problem from Ion light but that also was happening on older Garmin Edge.

At home I tried to change powerneters connection from ANT+ to BLE and it seems to show better stability but it isn't tested yet while riding.

  • Is inpeak also not working with 1040 by bluetooth?

  • Hi,

Another one with the same problem here.

  • I have solved....
    I bought STAGES
I'm sorry for those who have INPEAK ... forget it.

  • Stages … I never had problems with my left arm stages power meter. Since updated to last firmware things changed :/ During a ride PM stays connected but the Edge don’t display watts nor cadence. Randomly it appears and dissappears. Weird is that the sensor is in connected state at the time.

  • I have to admit it, but I think my problem was due to weak battery in my PM. Dedicated Stages app showed good battery status, but I currently ride in cold conditions near or below 0 C. This could indicate problems with power and cadence issues fields on the edge. I will test it further today.

  • Same issue here.

Purchased Inpeak to run my Rallys exclusively with the mtb, paired with edge 530 to do some initial tests, and when switched Inpeak to the 1040 it failed to connect, detecting/losing the connection many times and asking for calibration each time. Totally unusable.

I will let the Inpeak paired with the 530 for now and the rallys to the 1040, but this is not what I expect from such expensive device...

  • I also had this problem with INPEAK POWERMETER and unfortunately I had to buy another powermeter from the STAGES brand and thank God it works without problems, I was in communication with Garmin since August 2022 but they never solved the problem and wasted a lot of time and money , at the time there was nothing on the INPEAK AND GARMIN sites regarding the incompatibility of the 2 products. Now I have 370 euros of Powermeters gathering dust and I am very unhappy with it.
On older models of Garmin INPEAK POWERMETER works without problems, so the problem is in the series EDGE 1040.

    This sucks

  • Still does not work. It is more often disconnected than connected which make it absolutely unusable. Shame on me that I've didn't checked found this thread before buying any of these devices

  • I'm sorry for you too...
I had to buy a new STAGES POWERMETER and luckily it works perfectly.
Unfortunately GARMIN assistance has disappeared and has never let me know anything about INPEAK they sucked and pretend nothing happened.
    never bought Garmin again.
6 months not even a reply.

  • How did you manage to connect InPeak sensor via BT? On my edge 1040 it's only ant+ showing up
