Strava Segments not syncing Edge 1040

I cannot get my Strava starred segments or courses to sync on my Garmin Edge 1040 Solar. I upgraded from a 530 to the 1040 Solar (had no issues with 530 and segments) and always see the same "Sign into your Strava account using your Garmin Connect account" via the segments widget. I am signed in and see "segments" widget on my web-based connect dashboard with my starred Strava segments. In the garmin connect app I see that segments are also enabled. Anyone else have the same problem?

I have tried these things....

1. Disconnected Strava from Garmin and reconnected (on Strava's website)

2. Disconnected Garmin from Strava and reconnected (via Garmin connect profile)

3. Added new segments in Strava to hopefully force a sync (unsuccessful )

4. Tried syncs with Phone

5. Tried syncs via Garmin express via USB-C Connector.

So looks like segment explore widget has returned on my 1040 solar after the repair / resync suggestion - thank you! It was there, but then disappeared. Garmin support acknowledge this is a bug. Hoping this method keeps it active. Will have to try also syncing some routes from strava to see if that works now too.

Did a quick sync of a strava route today and it worked!

nice and I saw that yesterday for all but 1 segment. Planning to go out on another ride today and going to see if they show up while following a course.

I can't get stared strava routes on my 1040. If I can help let me know.

What is your process now? After starred it will show up in GC under training, courses. Click on 3 dots by the course and send to 1040. Sync and it will show up.

Previously you only needed to star them in STRAVA and they automatically uploaded to your device

Yeah it should be the case but I have recently taking this extra step as they were on my 530 that I kept as a device. I think since i did keep it GC did not re-sync automatically as it thought it was already there.

Routes with Segments are not showing segments again … new update .16 and still happening. My ride today had half a dozen or so segments and none showed up. All the climbs were there but no strava segments …

It is very hit and miss for me. I had to reset my 1040 solar to 12.15 and then upgraded to 12.16 to get solar to work. I went on a ride today and noticed that strava segment explorer widget was not working so I need to connect/disconnect my link from garminconnect.com and strava and reset that for it to show up again. So frustrating that it won't just stay there.

I have noticed that when segment explorer widget is working the rides even when doing courses that segments are pretty close to flawless.

The explore widget is working (was not when I first got things going) but the segments are not loading while riding.
