4iiii precision 3

I cannot seem to get this one working on the 1040. It sometimes finds the sensor on ant+, but connection is never stable enough to give any output at all. It has never showed on bluetooth. Other sensors connect fine (hr, speed).

Tried resetting and even a new different user. Nothing unfortantly. Also 100% sure it has nothing to do with ciq issue.

It connects within a second to my phone or Fenix 6x, so the problem is defenitly the Edge.

Anyone else seeing this and/or having a working precision 3 on the 1040?

    That's great news Blake and absolutely typical of my luck with timing!

    I'll await some positive feedback and maybe the full release before ordering again though.

    Hey everyone, the patch 2.50 kind of works, pretty nice!

    I did a short ride today (30km) to test it, got data the whole time on power and cadence.

    I had to stop for 5 mins to wait for a road block, when I started cycling again took a good 2 minutes for the sensor to connect on 1040 again, I thought it was not going to connect because it took so long, but it did.

    So next time I'll try to keep it awake or wake up before I leave, which is an annoying inconvenience but it's certainly better than having nothing working.

    Ideally it should connect in a few seconds like other sensors normally do.

    Perhaps there's something new in the patch that prevents it from connecting quickly?

    Thanks to the people who worked on it, I hope you read this feedback because the support team never let's us know where the feedback is going to, would be nice if you, developers/software engineers would come here to the forum as well.

    2504818 is this with the Inpeak or 4iiii precision 3 PM?

    That might be more of a 4iiii thing.  I've noticed that my P3 goes to sleep extremely fast after I wake it up and it doesn't connect to another device.  I've never had it disconnect once connected to my 1040 though.

    Even if you wait like 5 minutes? on traffic lights and such I had no issues

    .. I can confirm your experience. Firmware 14.50 seems to be a game changer. 2h ride, no dropouts perfect recording for power and cadence with 4iiii's precision 3

    Thanks for the report. I returned my first 1040 order literally hours before this version was announced. Number 2 is now on the way, I even managed to get 10% off the second one so all's well that ends well.

    I have a Precision 3 factory installed on a XT FC-M8100 175mm crank -- I've had no issues on my side, works fine with my 1040 and has since I got it (about a month ago was using firmware 12.x)

    This is interesting. Reading back from the beginning of this thread as well as the other ones the problems seem to range from absolutely no connection at all, through to patchy connection (my limited experience) and finally (like yourself) no problems. From an engineering point of view, I'd love to know the actual details behind the issue.
