Are shift alerts showing up for anyone on the 1040? I have my Di2 sensor set up, and it’s on S2, but I’m getting no alerts. This happened automatically with my 1030 plus.

Correct, and I do. On my 520+, I would also get a tone alert for the synchro-shift when I shifted to the gear before the shift. Both up and down. I also got a text alert at the top of the screen for all…
There’s a tone and a text box at the top of the screen that the next shift will change the chain ring.
It’s useful if it’s there. Keeps me from spinning out shifting to the smaller ring as I know to slow my cadence.
You should get an audio alert if you reach or try to exceed the upper or lower gear position. Check that tones is enabled under the Di2 sensor

Let me check if the 1030/1030+ give text alert. I'm pretty sure they do not, or it could be that I know what the tone is for so never check.
I've not played around with the synchro-shift. I'm a little unclear what the extra tones are that you get in that mode. Is it letting you know that the next shift would change front ring or that the next shift could take you to the end of range?

Thanks. Do you find that alert useful? I will need to change my Di2 set-up and give it a try.

Yeah, the shift to the small ring takes some technique and the alert is helpful to prepare for it.
I just tested this and I did not get the chainring shift alert as I used to get on my 830. I have mine set to automatically shift the front chainring when going up and down the rear cassette
It doesn't work for me either, I only have a tone box and no text box in the sensor settings.
