Can anyone report if Garmin have fixed the issue that the 1030+ has with ridiculously long responses to changes in gradient?

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the undesirable lag in road grade. We want to share that we have a plan for an improved solution with consideration of both accuracy and responsiveness. Our engineers…
@Garmin-Mathew.
If you really believe that 10-15 seconds delay is considered “normal” - as the official statement from Garmin is trying to force-feed customers, then what does that say about my Edge 1000…
I currently have a wahoo element (full size) a karoo2 and now a 1040 solar. as of the 12.14 release the 1040 solar still has a ridiculous lag as compared to the other two. I really don't care too much…
Wow, thé new climbpro is awesome, great job.
and yes gradient is OK Now !!!
thanks Garmin !
bigger fonts, background color regarding zone and the 1040 will be perfect .
Also I like the upgraded graphics, and gradient indicator in climb pro, which frees one data field for something else.
Yes! Noticed this yesterday on my ride and wondered if it was new, how could I have missed it. Excellent.
I have a feeling it will be soon as they have released a second beta
And that was more than a month ago. A few days ago they released a 4th beta so maybe a 2023 production release? I hope the climbpro enhancements also flow on to the standard elevation screen as I find that more useful for my riding.
I hope the climbpro enhancements also flow on to the standard elevation screen
Answering my own question, yes it looks like the enhancements including the current gradient above the position marker is in the standard elevation screen which for my purposes is more than adequate, even better than the climbpro screen, thanks Garmin
I've read/watched some reports that the 15.23 firmware backtracked on the gradient lag improvement. @GPLama did a video comparison between the 1040 updated to 15.23 and an Explorer where both devices had the same lag of over 10 seconds. I originally commented that I didn't notice that but now I've simultaneously used the 1040 with 15.23 and a 530 and both are identically slow, meaning 10+ seconds.
Beta firmwares older than 15.22 had a markedly reduced lag of about 3-5 seconds. Meaning the 15.23 firmware re-introduced the lag at least for some people. Can anyone corroborate that?
I can report that the lag was still there on my first ride with the new 15.23 firmware.
BUT since then I did 5-6 rides where the lag was gone and the gradient changes were spot on. So I'm quite happy and I hope it will stay like this.
Very strange because I didn't even reboot the device between the first and second ride (I always put the device in sleep mode between the rides).
So it seems there are some special circumstances where the lag may reappear
