Would you be so kind and fix the wrong clock issue already?

FW9.10 and still I have to treat your cycling """flagship""" as piece of garbage. Every time, every time when I use 1030 for indoor cycling the unit has wrong time. WHY? I am on wifi, I am on Bluetooth yet your are not able to fix this? This is beyond my understanding.

And thanks for the 9.1 update. Now the Edge 1030 freeze every time as it connects to BT on the mobile phone. Maybe it has something with the time issue, who knows and who cares, right?

  • Have you thought about placing the 1030 by a window to allow it to obtain a GPS fix which will update the time?  Except for Livetrack, I'm very pleased with my "garbage" 1030.

  • of course, every time that I want to ride indoor I have to do it. But WHY I HAVE TO DO IT in the first place?

I only have 1030 and F6. I only do rowing and biking. I only need history and training effect synced (https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mobile-apps-web/f/garmin-connect-web/209232/edge-1030-fenix-6s-pro---training-effect-and-recovery-time-not-syncing-properly)

No sync for me + I have this stupid time error (which I did not experienced last winter on indoor). That why I am so frustrated using the expensive Garmin tools.

The Edge gets date and time out of the GPS signal. Not every time, but from time to time give him a sat-fix!

Especially people who are not willing to understand how a device works are frustrated... I love my Edge.

Could you please elaborate how Edge is designed? Given the fact that last winter I had zero issue I would assume something is changed in the software. But OK, I might have been just lucky.

So you are telling me that Edge is designed to lost its time when not fixed to GPS? So it has same kind of memory issue? Because when I open map, I am still in my country, in my city and more less in my house. Not in -+ 3 hours different zone. And what is the time-to-time, how device works, what is the needed frequency? I just open manual and look:

Each time you turn on the device and acquire satellites or sync with your smartphone, the device automatically detects your time zone and the current time of day.

    or sync with your smartphone!

I love my Edge too, when outside, dont get me wrong. But, for that pile of money (at least for me), I expect perfection and not basic function failing (training effect sync for a starter).

  • The Edge gets it's time from GPS. That's just the way it is. Suggest a firmware change to Garmin.

  • It‘s hard to believe that you love the „piece of garbage“ that „freezes every time when it connects to BT“...

  • Or manual update...;)

    oh boy

when I turn on my little Edge820 after 5 days it shows the correct time

when I turn on my little larger Edge1030 after 5 days it shows NOT the correct time

both powered off by long press power button and selecting 'power off'

have no Garmin Connect Mobile or any bluetooth connection on E820 & E1030

    go figure

a simple major Garmin Nuisance starting an indoor ride Wink

    happy & safe sporting

  • On  your satellite  settings, do you have just GPS or do you have it set for one of the other two options? I ask because when I had mine set for GPS and Glonass, it did longer to acquire the satellites and setting it back to GPS worked much better.

  • Thanks for the tip, I had both. Switched to GPS, lets see..
