It seems that you cannot pause your ride during a 20 minute effort and expect the FTP to be calculated correctly. A continuous 20 minute effort is easy (well, not easy, exactly) if you are cycling indoors. Unfortunately, for those of us that do most of our workouts outdoors, it is very hard to find a single uninterrupted 20 minute stretch of road or trail. In the real world, there are intersections and/or places where you have to turn around. It would be nice to be able to pause while you momentarily have to stop, so that your average power is not ruined. I do realize that some people would consider a stop like this to be a "cheat", in that you are getting a rest, so it is not a true 20-minute effort. However, this is really a pretty negligible rest and should be the call of the user. I guess my question is this - does anyone know of a way to pause during an FTP effort and still get the calculation for the 20 minute segment?
