Refuses to connect to iPhone after a day or two

I pair my Edge 1030 Plus to my iPhone 11 Pro and it works perfectly.

A day or two later and the Edge can no longer see the iPhone. It just says "Searching". This is on the BT connection, BLE connects every time.

If I delete the phone pairing and do the whole process again, it works fine. But after a day or two it fails again.

Rebooting the iPhone and/or the Edge makes no difference. Nor does turning on/off bluetooth. In order to get it to work again I seem to have to delete and repair.

Any thoughts? It's extremely frustrating.

My wife often had this problem. She has a ton of open apps and never restarted her iPhone.

So I instructed her:

1) close all apps

2) completely shutdown iPhone

3) restart iPhone

4) start Garmin Connect App as only active app

5) start Garmin Edge device

-> works like a charm every time now

A simplier way:

disable Bluetooth on your iPhone, wait 2 or 3 secs, enable it again.

No need to close GCMobile or any app…

As I mentioned in original post, turning Bluetooth off/on makes no difference, the problem persists.

After a bit of experimenting, I've found that a mix of the above works. Turn off BT, close all apps, wait 5s if that time hasn't already passed, open GC mobile app, turn on BT. Thanks all.

Turning BT off and on works for me.
