Hello
My Edge 1030+ seems to be +4 to +5 degrees Celsius off.
Is there any way to recalibrate it ?
Thanks

Agree with you, +4, +5 C is a lot !!!
I don't expect the Garmin to be a reference temperature tool but this margin of error is not acceptable (not even a cheap Chinese thermometer has that large of a deviation…

I have the same problem +4°/+6° C
I really wish there was! I've had a case open with Garmin on this since last October! Mine reads on average 6F high. I have checked the readings on mine vs a certified digital thermometer at 3F (in the fridge) and also at ambient temperatures between 40F and 60F (my job was in the calibration of industrial process control instrumentation). The 1030+ replaced an Edge 1000 which was always within 1F.
Several of my regular riding partners have Edge 1000 and if I look at the trends of the temperature from their units on the same ride, they all agree with each other. My 1030+ is always 6 to 7F higher.
I keep asking Garmin for an update on this and get absolutely no where.
All it needs is a simple zero offset in the software to correct the linear error.
What are you comparing to that gives a +4 to +5C error - that's a LOT!
Also see: Wrong Temperature - Edge 1030 - Cycling - Garmin Forums they 'improved' it on the 1030 so I really hope they do for the 1030+
if you haven't already, PLEASE report your problem to Garmin - the more that do, the more likely it is that hey will do something ( I hope).

I compare my 1030+ with a 1000, 530, 830, and a 1030 units, all of which are within 1 C (max 2C) of each other and 4 to 5 C below my 1030+ readings.

Only mind that while most Garmin watches support the Tempe sensor (like my 935 does), the edge cycling computers do not. You need to install a CIQ app. I have done so and when comparing both temperature fields, it is immediately clear how accurate and stable the Tempe readings are. The CIQ app also provides saving the value in your FIT file, not as an integer like garmin, but one digit behind the dot or comma.
I am not in any way connected or acquainted to the builder of this CIQ app.
Yes, this is 25 euro, but then you have one complaint less.
Thanks for the suggestion, but if you don't have a Garmin watch then the cost is obviously a lot more than that ;-)
To my mind though, I have paid 650 euros for my Edge 1030+ and think it is reasonable for it to show a resonably accurate themperature. Buying the EXTRA Tempe sensor (I have a Vivoactive 4) is like wearing two wrist watches because one is inacurate, or having to buy a secondary speedometer for your car. I want to be able to see the temperature on my Edge 1030+ in real time. It serves no purpose to have it on a watch under layers of clothing.
Best wishes...
Let me explain a bit.
You do not need a watch, you can use your Edge 1030 (+) to show the temperature that is provided by an extra sensor: the Garmin Tempe. You only have to install a CIQ datafield or widget to do so.
Because you can attach this small sensor everywhere, you can put it out of the sun, because direct sunlight will always provide wrong temperatures. This is the problem with an out-front mount. In winter you have the cold wind, in summer the direct sunlight. A sensor under the saddle does not have these downsides.
The weight is only a few grams, and it is place and forget.
I am using the sensor for almost a year and all this time I am happy with Garmin. If my 1030 would have cost me 25 euro extra and Garmin would have provided the sensor with it, I would have bought it anyway.
I have had several headunits from Garmin (310XT, 810, 820, 1030 and now 1030 Plus). Readings are all different, but none of them correct. Tempe field is close enough to correctness.
Only a difficult algorithm (combining speed, history of temperature, changes in temperature) could do something, but I do not expect Garmin to put a lot of effort in that. Just my 25 euro ;-)
You only have to install a CIQ datafield or widget to do so.
Just one question - out of curiosity:
There‘s a rumor that CRT Tempe datafield quits its work as soon as you use laps. Does pressing lap button stop working CRT datafield?
Yes and no.
If you are following a structured workout and press the lap-button, then there is no problem.
If you are NOT following a workout and just press the lap button, then yes, it stops working. You can however reconnect the sensor by for instance changing to another Activity type and then back.
So yes, it is not perfect.
For me this is no problem, I never create laps with the lap button (use structured workout or do not use laps).
Thanks for clarifying the use of the iQ data field on the Edge. It's a great pity about the issue with the lap button as I use that often. Cest la vie!
