The newest update is still not showing. I am on beta 5.63, do I need to go back to 5.20? Is there a file to manually update to the latest build pls.

It is likely on phased rollout.
You can get 6.10 from the beta link
forums.garmin.com/.../new-edge-1030-plus-public-beta-6-10-now-available
Just a question of understanding: the 6.10 public beta is identically with the new 6.10 final version? So no need to try to download the final version (which will not be offered, because the 6.10 beta is installed)?
aweatherall is correct that this is in a phased rollout. We are currently at 20% at the time of this post. We will be correcting the Pinned post for the software update.
Should this not be 6.20 stable as currently Garmin Express still thinks I am on 5.20. and Garmin Connect thinks I am on 6.10; which of course is correct.
I have upgraded to 5.63 beta, 6.0 beta then 6.10 beta. Cant see how Garmin express will overwrite the current 6.10 Beta unless it references the 5.20 within Garmin Express ?. Is that how it references updates ?
6.10 beta become the 6.10 release. It is the same build.
Hi @aweatherall., I had assumed they would have the same checksum therefore it is unlikely to update; however, as mentioned, Garmin Express still thinks I have 5.20 installed.
If the update routine searches the device then it is unlikely to update, if it references Garmin express then it should overwrite the file on the device. I am asking for clarity on the update routine as the programs are somewhat misleading. Normally a stable issue would have a small increment to force the update and I would then expect GE and GC to then align.
Where in garmin express do you see it thinking its 5.20? If i checked the device in garmin express it reads firmware 6.10, which I updated using the beta link, coming from 5.63. Tbh its true the final release should be slightly incremented from beta, to not cause this confusion.
Garmin Express is reporting the highest build it has access to for the unit, not actually what you have on the unit if the unit has a higher build than GE has access to, At this time your unit is not in the pool of devices that have access to 6.10.
