Edge 1030 Plus, no way to pair with iOS 14.5?

Hello,

is there any issue with pairing Edge 1030 Plus with iPhone  iOS 14.5? I have tried everything possible, but Gamin Connect app never show the Edge device in popup "Select an Accessory", when in pairing mode, why is that? I have already reset Edge to factory defaults but still no progress. I'm able to pair Garmin HRM without a problem with the same iPhone. Also pairing Edge via iOS settings BT works, just pairing via Garmin Connect app doesnt.

Please help, this is really frustrating.

  • I have the exact same issue with my Edge 830 on iOS 14.5. Very annoying and I tried everything possible. (Besides resetting iPhone to factory settings). Hopefully this is fixed in the next iOS beta.

  • Same issue here. Tried everything, and nothing. I'm assuming that something changed in iOS 14.5 and Garmin will have to issue an update to the connect app.

As you, the edge pairs with the phone via bluetooth, but via the garmin connect app, nothing shows up in the Select Accessory dialog, and the setup process eventually times out.

  • New GCM anyone try it yet?

  • I tried it, but still no luck paring my Garmin edge 1030 with my phone via the GCM.  Tried everything again, but no joy.

  • The same here, updated iOS and Connect app, but issue remains. Confounded

  • If haven't done already, might want to try these steps below and in the video.

    • Verify that you're running the latest release of Garmin Connect Mobile iOS.
    • In the Garmin Connect app remove Garmin - More > Garmin Devices > select your Garmin device > Remove Device
    • On your iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
    • If you have any other mobile devices (phones, tablets) nearby and paired with the Garmin, also do the same there - Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
    • Restart iPhone
    • Restart Garmin
    • Place your Garmin in pairing mode  - depends on model, but usually hold MENU > select Pair Phone.
    • Pair using Garmin Connect, not your phone's Bluetooth settings.

If still no joy, might need to contact Garmin Support

  • Hello, anyone that is experiencing this. We have released an update to the app for iOS today. Could you update the app and let me know if there are any changes to the pairing.

  • None of the steps described above work in this situation, with iOS 14.5 and Garmin Connect for iOS. This morning I've updated to the latest version of the app (4.40), and still no joy. And yes, I have tried all the steps described in the video and in multiple other posts in this forum. Does Garmin even test these features with Apple's beta releases of their software? Seems like it would be a good practice to prepare for releases of the base OS the app runs on.

  • Are you getting any errors or is there just spinning in the app?

  • No spinning in the app and only to retry to pair message. Retrying nothing shows up and eventually comes back with retry again.
