Can't start activity when course is loaded first

I couldn't work out what was going on the first time it happened and now it's happened 3 or 4 times since. It only happens when I load a course (follow a route) and has only started in the past few weeks, but not every time I try to use a route. I manage to "fix" it by holding the power button to soft-reset which allows me to start the activity, and I don't even need to reload the course. Maybe it's got something to do with using IQ to get the course to the device rather than connection through a PC? It's rather annoying though! It seems like the last update has made everything slower and less accurate too, such as current gradient, current elevation, GPS fixing and ANT+ connections.

Interesting. To be honest, I never noticed this issue before since I always loaded a course and started my activity. Basically, with the same steps that mcinner1 mentioned. But after I followed steps in the video yea, there it looks like there is a problem when IQ app is not closed properly (not an user issue) and you can't start the timer (this is not possible when app is in foreground), start IQ app again or even power down the device (because IQ app is still running).

Former Member I believe there is enough information how to reproduce this issue.

What the thread title doesn't say, and what the opening post doesn't say either:
The problem apparently only occurs when loading the course via IQ App.

There is no problem if you load the course from the saved routes (= the "normal" way).

I know but this requires connecting to PC... I'm a lazy guy :) 

and prefer dowloading via IQ app and doing hard reboot ;) 

This is not about laziness. I have been using Komoot for downloading routes for years and it doesn't work like before. So the problem exists.

Theoretically you can enable route synchronization with GC and then sync routes from GC with Edge wirelessly, but nah.. too many additional steps to achieve the same thing. I believe this bug come with v4.0 where they introduced the latest CIQ...
