Will not connect to wifi

device is brand new out of the box.

turned on, updated, sync-ed through garmin express, connected to iphone garmin connect.

took outside to find sats so it would display the correct time.

Will not connect to wifi:

on the device it does not recognise any wifi signals, from iphone hotspot to my house wifi (2.4GHz - which my fr945 is currently connected to)

on the garmin connect phone app it simply does not connect

over garmin express similarly it does not connect.

the device is up to date software v 3 and i've restarted it a bunch of times,

What is going on? this stuff should be the basics... connecting to wifi!!!

Mine is working fine... so the issue must be on your site. You have mentioned, that you have 2.4 GHz (only this is supported), but why it is not showing your SSID and is showing such weird networks?

Are you sure your WiFi has the SSID Broadcast active? Standard protocol is to disable broadcast after a brief period while adding devices. Going further, there is also a white list of MAC Addresses that security conscience like to use in addition to the passphrase.

Yeah great suggestions to check, SSID is broadcasting and mac address filtering is not active.

Try to configure WiFi with Gaemin Express from your Desktop.

I'm not an expert in that fields, but it was reportet, that Edge devices only work on WIFI channels up to 10 - not beyond.
Maybe it's worth to check it.

Thanks so much for your reply. I've just adjusted my router settings to channel 6: but my 1030 is still not finding anything and things it does find are all scrambled up with questionmarks like in the pictures of the original post...

You can try a short WIFI name with plain ASCI characters, no special letters, password less then 8 characters.
