GPS not working after installing 3.0 - GPS FW Issue

Hi,

My Edge 1030 Plus downloaded version 3.0 and today I started getting this message: “GPS Firmware Updated Successfully”. The message keeps appearing on bottom of the screen and the 1030 does not connect to any satellites.

When I go to GPS I have as options connecting to GPS, GPS + GLONASS and off. The Galileo option dissappeared.

The copyright info of the system says under GPS Version: 2.90 (!). I understand that the new version should be 4.50

I have tried connecting it to Garmin Express and it downloaded again the GPS FW update and I again installed it, but I still have the same problem.

I have already Reset to Default Settings and nothing improved.

Any ideas on how to correct this?

Is there a place where could I find the GPS FW update file to try to install it manually?

GPS-software can be found in device \Garmin\RemoteSW

The file on my device (GPS [v3.0-it's my fault!] correct: v4.5) is named: 006B310706.GCD
and has a size of 771,018 bytes.

Hi Simon,

I don’t recall being asked for a copy of the invoice. I recall I was asked for the S/N, and to provide some files stored in the Edge 1030+. I have checked and do not have anything in my emails requesting an invoice or me sending it.

That being said, my wife recently returned her Vector 3 power meter pedals for exchange and she was asked for a sales invoice.

Sorry, has anyone found a solution to this? I've tried replacing the GCD file to no avail, mine happened whilst out riding today and won't connect to GPS anymore

Hi,

From my own experience you may not be able to fix it as the unit is most likely faulty. Raise a support request with Garmin.
