Changes made from version 2.30 to 2.41:

  • Fixed iPhone pairing issue.
  • Hi after update i can not connect to pc with usb tried 2 computers. just keeps rebooting with usb cable plugged in. Everything else works ok.

  • Worked fine on my PC after update

  • For me, it always starts again and again on the PC.

  • Had to go back to 2.30

  • If you don't want to risk bricking your device don't install the beta...  Mine worked OK initially and then on syncing with latest Garmin Express on MacOs v7.0.1.0 and trying to update maps it would not startup correctly. I also had warning my storage was full?  Think Garmin Express must have tried to install all Maps (It doesn't seem to be working correctly)? My device just cycled from starting and rebooting.  I had to force the device into USB drive mode and connect to my computer.  I tried to downgrade of firmware by loading 2.30 file and restart device and it started but did not perform firmware change to 2.30. Have then subsequently deleted firmware file and device is now working??? Not going to try any map updates, although the device is now showing only 2GB storage remaining???.  I also have an original 1030 which bricked when installing last firmware update it has been sent back to Garmin for replacement as it would not start at all...

  • Same here, 1030 plus will try to mount to the PC as a drive a couple of times and then just continues to boot up to it normal screen, after maybe 15 or so seconds the device powers down and re-boots it continues in this cycle until I remove the USB cable. I can manually put the device in mass storage mode and have it connect to the PC and Garmin Express.

  • Has anybody a problem with autosaving activity after a certain time in pause & sleep state? My today's 140 km ride ended as 3 separate activities, because I needed to stop 2 times, so I paused activity and pressed power to sleep that device for a longer time (30 min? maybe less). After wake up it automatically saved that activity and I needed to start a new activity again to continue my ride.

  • I had the same issue with rebooting, which solved itself after enabling WiFi, which allowed it to download and apply a GPS firmware update, after which I did a power off (not sleep!), and upon booting up, connected to PC, and it didn't powercycle again.

Not sure if the missing GPS firmware update was the issue or something else, but my issue with continuous reboot fixed itself. So all good for now :)

  • It does appear that the beta may have toggled of WIFI, I re-enabled it and the continuous cycle is gone for me as well but in my case I already had the new GPS software. Nice catch! Thanks
