Losing GPS Signal

The device continuously loses the GPS signal every 3/5 minutes. I tried to select the different satellite options (GPS, GPS + Glonass and GPS + Galileo) but continues to lose the signal for a few seconds (2-3 "). I performed a hard reset as recommended by the Garmin service but I have not solved. This problem affects the Live Strava Segments which, as soon as the signal is lost, stop instantly.

  • Only sensor used is heart.  No cadence or speed.  Every five or ten mins the pause beeps sound and the 2 lines/ arrowhead display as if you stopped/started no matter what speed, 20, 30, 40 kph

The pause works when I stop.  it's as if you lost GPS but in complete open space, no trees .....

  • Ok, thanks for claritication.

Do you get also the beep+message: „satellite lost“ - and after a while: „satellite found“?
So, do you really lose GPS (satellite lost) or is it „only“ a speed problem with GPS?

  • Not had any message saying satellite lost , or found.  So maybe a speed problem with GPS ....

it happens quite quick - beep pause, beep moving immediately after each other.

  • So, it seems not to be a „Losing GPS Signal“ problem.
And it is very strange if speed is taken from GPS.

What you describe - quick sequences of pause/start - I only know, if speed is taken from an ebike as sensor. But you say: no speed sensor...

If you have no GPS problem in general and the speed problem persists, I would invest a frontwheel hub speedsensor. It is not very expensive but very reliable. (And much more precise than GPS speed.)
