First ride report

First ride with my freshly arrived Edge 1030 Plus. I had the Edge 830 prior to it, which I returned for a refund die to it losing satellite connection concurrently.

Happy to report I had no such issues on my 22k ride:

Very pleased with it so far: the display is very easy to read and coming up with a round trip was very fast. Navigation was great too- made even easier by the loud! beeps before a turn.

The 1030 Plus successfully adapted to a closed off road and rerouted me on an alternative route instead of insisting on me to make a U-turn, as was the usual behaviour of the Edge 830..

No sensor dropouts either: I had the following sensors connected:

-HRM Dual and my Favero Assioma pedals

I forgot about the navigation option under audio prompts. My 830 has that too. So in that case yes it is possible to get the notifications via BT, but I don't think it will be just the beeps. I will have to play with that sometime. Thanks aweatherall

For those coming from 830, did you get used to the poor screen quality? I am using them side by side outdoors and indoors and for the latter it is rather disappointing. I wonder whether there is any point in trying a replacement but my suspicion is they all look terribly dull indoors.
