GIANT Talon E+ Ex power measurement way too low on the Edge 830

I recently bought the a.m. bike, looking forward to using the built-in powermeter to show my actual and average power on my Edge 830.

The GIANT RideControl App (connected to the bike via BT) shows correct power data, but my Edge unfortunately doesn't. I had used it with GARMIN's Vector 2 on a different bike for a long time without any problems, but with the built-in powermeter of my new e-bike it doesn't work at all. The power readings are way too low on the edge. When I cycle with 200W, shown correctly in the GIANT App, the Edge only displays around 50W, for example.

Anyone else with this problem? What could be the solution to this?

If I can work out how to ignore power and speed and just use the battery status and range fields, I will do that.

Just untick the sensors you don't want

I also have the same problem with my Giant Reign E+1 2022 and the Garmin Edge 530.
At the beginning it worked and after some update (I'd have to check) the display was incorrect.

I have the Giant Talon E+3 2023 model with latest firmware and can confirm that on both Edge 1040 and Epix 2 Pro the power meter readings are useless (8-9 watts with random spikes), as well as distance and speed being 10% too low when using the ebike profile. I verified against a real power meter (installed SRM X-Power Flats) and two speed sensors, including the one that's installed on the bike.

The new e-bike update I downloaded to my Giant Stance Pro e+1 finally fixed the wattage issue. It already shows real watts.

That's great news. I installed an update last week but haven't bothered trying it with my Garmin Fenix yet. Maybe I should!

After testing this morning I would argue we're almost there, speed and distance match perfectly with other sensors, but power output is roughly 95% of what SRM X-Power measures. Maybe good enough, certainly compared to before.
