I assume you mean that the threads in the HRM are stripped such that the screw turns but does not back out. I suggest you remove the other screws that hold the case together and gently pry up on the backing plate while turning the screw.
If you mean that the head of the screw is damaged so that a Phillips head screwdriver no longer can engage, you might try a small Torx driver.
