The + connection sometimes gets misaligned. See attached video which explains the issues and shows how to fix it. It worked for me!

Having same issue with two sensors. Changed batteries 3 times each / resetting battery and lid 3 times. Connecting to crank arm and running through add senor | cadence ... 3 times. Looks like I get to have more fun. Or buy a new one on Amazon. Grrrr - Design is important.
