    I'm not commenting on the OP's situation, which sounds like an allergy, but want to point out that sometimes reactions people have to something against their skin is irritation, rather than an allergy. This sort of irritation isn't caused by the material…

    Make sure your palm is relatively flat when you put it on the display.  If it's curved/arched over the display, it won't work.

    Mine works every time, as expected, as long as I do this, or use a more flat skin surface, such as your forearm.
