My upload is shorting my ride 21.5 miles. I could accept the garmin 705 had an issue and shut down but it does know it went 27 miles. Under "lap" its showing the full ride of 27 miles. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you

It uses a combination of GPS and 'dead reckoning' distance estimation based on the accelerometer in the watch, because the GPS does not have continuous signal reception.
