Just create a shortcut to BaseCamp on your desktop. Right-click it, select Properties, append space /allowmultipleinstances after the last quote-sign.
Then you can open as many as you want by doubleclicking the shortcut.

I second the request for the ability to edit Via point names. Other similar options might be to:

- Clear all via point names in a route
- Automatically create via point names from elevation of the selected points

Insert, Move Point, Erase, Divide

I find that I switch frequently between these and the select or hand tools, and have to move my mouse up to the toolbars each…

Das ist korrekt. Die Mitte sollte den Einstellungen am GPS am ehesten entsprechen.
