How many people use a screen protector on their Tactix?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone uses or recommends a screen protector on their Tactix. I recently upgraded from a Tactix Charlie to a Tactix 8 and I didn't have a screen protector on my Charlie, but it didn't have a touch screen, and I never had any issues with scratches to the screen, etc., but I'm curious if others feel it is necessary. Does it interfere with the touch screen's responsiveness?

I did end up putting an acrylic protector on my T8. It might be unlikely that the sapphire crystal will scratch, for $7.99 and not having the protector affect the touchscreen responsiveness or the quality…

I applied a tempered film. I saw someone's Tactix 8 had two scratches. Figure 1 shows the scratches. Figures 2 and 3 show my watch with a tempered film.

The tempered film doesn't affect the touch at all

Is that just a glare or your DLC coating has worn off between 24 and 02 bezel marker?

I have used them too on many different Garmin watches and never experienced any issues with touchscreen responsiveness or solar charging. If you ever think of selling your watch after a couple of years, scratches on the display are not a good selling point....and yes, sapphire can scratch too

I actually did end up buying a 4 pack of acrylic screen protectors and I am very pleased. Impossible to detect it is even on the watch.

Honestly, I don’t see the point of a screen protector on sapphire glass — the only thing harder than sapphire is diamond. I did keep a TPU case on the Fenix, so maybe that helped. I’m running a TPU case on the Tactix 8 too, because I tend to smack my watch into random stuff way too many times a day
