Disappointment in Garmin Tactix 8 amoled

On what basis, with auto-updates turned off, after connecting to a computer and downloading music to the watch, updates are installed that I do not want to install (version 22.35, which is buggy)? In general, I will refuse to use Garmin technology, and I recommend that everyone else do the same. I wish Garmin to collapse and go bankrupt with such a service policy.

На каком основании с выключенными автообновлениями после подключения к компьютеру и закачиванию музыки на часы происходит установка обновлений, которые я не хочу устанавливать (версия 22.35, которая глючная)? В общем от техники Гарм н буду отказываться и советую сделать это всем остпльным. А Гармин с такой сервисной политикой желаю суорейшего разорения и краха.

Buf with GoogleMaps layer on firmware 22.35

After updating the firmware to version 22.35, the Google Maps layer stopped displaying in Maps. When I rolled back to an earlier version 20.24, the issue was resolved. When will a fix for this bug be released?

Als militair duiker ben ik teleurgesteld in een aantal keuzes van de Tactix 8, zeker omdat Garmin deze nadrukkelijk promoot als een "military watch".

Ik werk regelmatig met verschillende grid-systemen. Wanneer je tijdens een activiteit al in een bepaald grid-formaat zit en een ander formaat wilt bekijken of opslaan, moet je via meerdere menu's en instellingen je voorkeur aanpassen. Dit kost onnodig veel stappen. Een snelle wisseloptie of sneltoets voor grid-formaten zou veel praktischer zijn voor operationeel gebruik.

Daarnaast vind ik het jammer dat de Training Readiness en bepaalde trainingsfuncties niet beschikbaar zijn na een duik. Voor militaire duikers is het juist heel gebruikelijk om voor of na een duik fysieke training uit te voeren, zeker tijdens opleidingen en trainingsperiodes. Op zulke momenten wil je je trainingen gewoon kunnen registreren en alle trainingsstatistieken kunnen blijven gebruiken.

De hardware van de Tactix 8 is uitstekend, maar deze softwarematige beperkingen passen niet bij de doelgroep waarop Garmin zich richt. Ik hoop dat Garmin deze punten meeneemt in toekomstige software-updates

LED Not Retaining Its Setting by Mode

After the most recent update a few days ago, I noticed my LED does not default to green when Red Shift is set to “on,” nor does it default back to white when Red Shift is off. Pretty harsh to be in Red Shift, double tap top left, only to get blinded by white light. Conversely, when full bright white is needed quickly (while not in Red Shift) and a double tap only gives you green, it’s inconvenient. It seems the watch now simply retains the last LED setting in general, without regard for Red Shift. What gives?

Tactix 8 Diveview map creating empty map layer

At the request of Garmin support, here's a post for problem of Diveview map on tactix 8.

When I install the Diveview map on tactix 8, it instantly creates an empty map layer in the Map Layer page alongside with the normal Diveview maps.

The ghost layer cannot be entered and will randomly be toggled on or off upon entering layer setting. And it has chance of breaking the entire layer toggle system. To reproduce this and rule out third-party map compatibility issue, I have uninstalled every third-party map and only keeps a few small topoactive maps. Hope this could be fixed soon.

Crash when checking weather radar map and flashlight does not default to green when using color shift mode at night

I had my first crash/restart on version 22.35 while checking the weather radar map it's just a black screen with the spinning blue bar. It never loads the map and crashes after about a minute of the spinning progress bar. I have already performed a factory reset with no change. Also there was an update not long ago that when color shift mode after sunset was active, the flashlight would default to green. Now it defaults to white or green depending on which one was used last.

Since updating to 22.35, my battery drain has doubled. No settings have changed, I have restarted/factory reset and it has not helped. Is there any known fix? I’ve seen quite a few threads with people commenting the same thing.

При установке будильника,при включённым звуке не слышно работы звука,он вообще отсутствует

Эта же проблема при голосовых вызова с часов,собеседник меня слышит,а я его нет

При включении карты,экран тукснеет,а при переключении режимов тёмной темы и светлой,при светлой теме экран отображает с инверсией цвета и тускнеет,что ничего не видно

В чем может быть проблема

Two things on software version 22.35 (battery drain)

So I have updated my Tactix 8 to 22.35 and found the following two things:

1. The battery is draining faster. In the battery analysis widget it always shows orange medium usage even if I'm doing nothing. The icons of consumption items are always bluetooth, heartrate and sometimes backlight. But these are the way I use my watch and everything was fine before 22.35.

2. The DIveview maps once installed on tactix 8, will create an empty map layer in the map layer setting; if I touch the switch on that empty-name layer it will break the map system and other maps will no longer be correctly indicated whether it's on or off by the switchs.

Map screen in aviation is missing

UX for vibration alerts, disabling spam

As general rule, i would like to get alerted only on things that are actionable by me,

for example, i'm expecting messages or a call and want to get alerted:

1) a message on my phone -> i can read it

2) somebody is calling me -> i can answer the phone

and so forth, however

I get dozens of times a day a vibration alert on my watch that says:

"Syncing your data"

This could take a little while."

There is absolutely no value for me on this, but it will make me look at my watch and feel irritated, i need to keep the alerts on to get the data i actually want, but then i get interrupted on whatever it is that i'm doing by this 0 information alert, that cannot be disabled.

Is there really no way to get rid of this alert? Why it is even there, what is the purpose, why should i care ?

I had the problem now for several times with different type of activities:

I "Save" the activity, I can see the activity on the UI of the watch and as file in the "Garmin/Activity"-folder.

However it's mot being synced. What I already tried:

restarting the Connect app
restarting the phone
restating the watch

If I try to upload the file it's not possible: "An error occurred with your upload. Please try again." - no further information

Any ideas?

Beta 22.23

Hi I stopped beta but I am running version 22.23 and I am having serious problems with my HR as it shoots up to 170bpm and just stays there and it's nowhere near that. I don't know if it's the beta or not but how do I roll back to the previous non beta or is there another software update coming soon?

Button shortcut for stealth mode (vote)

The tactix 8 already has a solid button shortcut system (Watch Settings > System > Shortcuts), and Garmin clearly understands the value of one-gesture access for critical functions — the Kill Switch is a perfect example of this done right.

The gap: Stealth Mode is not available as an assignable button shortcut. It’s only accessible through the Controls menu, which requires multiple steps to reach. For a feature that disables wireless comms, silences the mic and speaker, and stops GPS position storage — in other words, a feature with direct operational security implications — that’s a meaningful usability problem. A warfighter or operator who needs to go dark needs to do it in one motion, not navigate a menu.

The request is simple: Add Stealth Mode (toggle on/off) to the list of assignable functions in the button shortcut menu on tactix-series watches. A held button combination, consistent with how Kill Switch is implemented, would be ideal.

The firmware framework already exists. This is purely a matter of exposing the function within the shortcut assignment menu.
If this is something you’d want too — please hit Like so Garmin can see the demand.

Backlight on Gesture (Solar)

Getting so tired of the bugs! No amount of resetting the watch makes it go away. I have it set to wake on gesture before sunrise/after sunset, yet 30 minutes after sunrise at the time of writing the backlight keeps turning on when I wrist gesture. I turned it completed off, then back on. Power cycled the watch. Resync to Garmin Connect...NOTHING works. This in combination with another post I made regarding App notifications to the watch even though I have it completed set to off and my solution is to keep the watch in 'do not disturb' mode makes me think all these bugs are a solar issue? I'm getting pretty tired of it all and Garmin's solutions and lack there of.

Navigation on Coach run

The ability to turn off everything that is interfering with maps, just speak it, don't disrupt the screen. pace high pace low etc. storm alert. and everything else. while I'm trying to navigate a really technical trail run.

HRV low since 21.27 Update

Is anyone else experiencing a lower HRV value since the 21.27 update?

My HRV is running about 8 points lower than before the update. No change in routine and in the beginning of the lower value, I thought perhaps is was a physiological thing, but it's been too long to not have recovered.

Garmin assistant voice is High Pitch all of a sudden

Has anyone else's assistant voice turned into high pitched and sounds the same for male or female the last few days?? I am on 21.27 and this voice is starting to get on my nerves. I have restarted my phone and watch plus factory reset sill high pitched. Just seeing since i searched for this and nothing came up if anyone has had this and fixed it

Tactix 8 compatibility with Xero C1

I am writing to seek clarification regarding a technical issue I am experiencing with my Tactix 8 Elite 51mm (v21.27) and Xero C1 (v3.32).

While the devices pair successfully, the Tactix 8 crashes and reboots immediately upon starting the Xero Chronograph mirroring application. I received an email from Garmin Product Support stating that the Xero C1 does not have the ability to pair with Garmin watches; however, several retailers continue to sell these devices as compatible bundles without reported issues.

Could you please confirm whether the Tactix 8 Elite is intended to support the Xero Chronograph mirroring application when used with the Xero C1?

Rest timer black screen during strength training

Hi !

I have the issue with the strength training - in the area where the rest time should be displayed, I get a black screen when I start the rest timer during strength training. If I swipe to another screen and then return, everything displays normally. At the same time, the upper part of the screen, where the heart rate zones are shown, works correctly.

Garmin Tactix 8 51mm Solar, software version 21.27. I have tried restarting the watch and reinstalling the firmware, but it did not help.

Voice recordings don’t work

Since a few updates voice recordings stopped working. All I can hear when I record something is white noise.
I tested and the microphone and speaker work perfectly fine. (tested it by making calls).

When I had YouTube Music installed, the recordings would play the music as if it was recorded on the watch. I then deleted the app to see if it helps, and then the white noise came back.

anyone else with a similar expe?

any ideas on how to solve it?
