- Hello,
Device: Garmin Tactix 8
Description of Issue: I'm unable to connect my Garmin Tactix 8 watch to Wi-Fi networks. The watch can detect available networks but consistently fails to connect.
Troubleshooting Performed (Directly via Watch and App):
-
Firmware updated to the latest version via Garmin Connect app.
-
Confirmed Wi-Fi status is "On" in the watch settings.
-
When attempting "Wi-Fi Sync," the watch prompts: "Add Wi-Fi networks using the Garmin Connect app."
-
Under "My Networks" → "Search for Networks," the watch successfully detects all available Wi-Fi networks.
-
Both hidden and visible networks on 2.4 GHz channels are detected, yet connection attempts always result in "Connection Failed."
-
I've restarted both the watch and my phone multiple times without resolving the issue.
-
Additionally, within the Garmin Connect app on iOS, I encounter an error message "Something went wrong" when attempting to manage Wi-Fi networks, while the watch displays "Connection Failed."
Network Details:
-
Frequency: 2.4 GHz
-
Networks tested: One hidden SSID, one visible SSID
Error Messages:
-
On Watch: "Connection Failed"
-
On Garmin Connect App: "Something went wrong"
Request: Seeking guidance or additional troubleshooting steps to resolve these Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
Thanks,
Matt
