MAJOR ISSUE: Device reset multiple times during round of golf.

  • Device is on the latest available software. 
  • I play golf 3 times a week and hence this is a critical issue to resolve. 

Since round about November 2024 I have noticed that  during a round of golf when I select VIEW GREEN option to move pin. The device would just restart on its own. After restart I am able to continue the round BUT,  any holes played up until this point with associated data would not display under Activity and view round after I have completed my round. 

Yesterday 5 January 2025, this happened twice during a round. It is definitely the VIEW GREEN and moving a pin location function that creates this issue. I am happy to share my profile data so you will notice the round information that is missing. 

e.g. for a couple of rounds it will show holes data missing from the total round information. 

  • replying to myself to ensure this thread stay's open. Same issue happened again yesterday. It seems that when the device battery is below 50% and you play a round of golf and then try to change the pin location on the green the device does a complete restart. Again all holes played data up until that point is lost. 

    @garmin-laurie whom from garmin can look into this? Again this is for your premier device the MARQ Golfer Gen2.

  • Hi. I have the same issue. Happened on my two last rounds. I go into the «view green», the watch freeze and I need to reboot the watch. Everything except the score and number of putts are lost. This is particularly annoying since I am currently beta testing the connection  between Garmin and Clippd. I would very much appreciate a fix for this issue. Thomas

  • Hi, I was in contact with Garmin support and uploaded all the logs for my device etc as per their request. This issue was then resolved in the Jan/Feb major device updates. NB. I prefer to do my device updates using the Garmin express desktop software. It seems you don't get the full update when updating using the built in software update using the device menu. 

  • Hi, thank you :-) I will try to update it using the desktop software. However, it sounds strange that we dont get a full update using the device, did Garmin tell you that? I have the 20.23 version currently installed
