Marq 2 Adventurer Gen 2 Damascus Steel

I sold my Marq 2 adventure and bought this . It is expensive and yea I know it’s the same watch but the build and materials feel amazing, hard to explain but it blows past my Titatium adventure… With that said the tech is really not that far off from my Fenix 8, No ecg or light and I’m ok without it , and the elevate 4 vs 5 really does not have such a drastic difference…

it’s not for everyone, and believe me I don’t have money so I off set the price selling other tech I have , but you only live once and might as well enjoy what you like ..

  • As I already wrote in another post, I would have expected more from such an expensive edition. Ultimately, though, it’s everyone’s own decision, and if the criticized points aren’t important to you, the watch is definitely an unique eye-catcher. Enjoy it!

  • You only live  once. Wear it in good health.

  • Why do people like you keep insisting that the Marq somehow needs more feature parity with whatever the latest Fenix is?  Garmin have always been clear that the Marq is a visual upgrade.  They have always been an iteration behind. You are paying for the materials and craftsmanship.

  • First of all the watch comes with an insane price tag, which inherently sets the bar high for features. Who would be okay spending that amount for a smartwatch, which has less features than some $200 watches?

Then where has garmin made it clear that the marq is always one iteration behind? That's your words. You might have a look at the marketing material, it is sold as a high end watch with emphasis on modern features...

Absolutely, it should speak for itself for the Marq to be the example of both durability AND innovation, i.e. as a consumer have the option to invest in a high end model with better materials and get updates during several generations.

It is now obvious, with the intro of the Fenix 8 more than before, that the Marq is not at all treated differently as to upgrades and is basically outdated immediately. Never understood why Garmin introduced the carbon and damascus steel versions much later than the Gen 2 series, with at the moment of intro already dated hardware (Fenix/Epix Pro were already on the market) and software (damascus steel version - lagging behind Fenix 8 that was already available).

  • If you don't like it, don't buy it. The OP is a happy customer and so am I. Each to his own.

  • Agreed … I love it .. and I use my Fenix 8 for more intense workouts ..
