Marq Adventurer gen 2 Damascus Steel Rust

Is there some coating or laminate on the outside of the Marq Adventurer gen 2 Damascus Steel to stop the bezel from rusting.

It seems like someone who swims regularly might end up with a rusty watch

Also wondering if dipping the watch in diet coke (to remove the rust) won't hurt the electronics?

  • Modern Damascus may be made from stainless steels, so there really shouldn't be an issue.

  • I’m wondering why anyone would buy a smartwatch with technology that’s already a year outdated, where everything, including the strap, seems identical to the titanium version. Except, of course, for the price, which has been hiked up again. You could almost think Garmin ordered too many parts for the Marq 2 Adventurer Titanium and is now trying to reduce stock this way. Honestly, who would buy this? When it was first released, it was an incredible watch, but now?

  • Garmin is treating us as idiots. Imagine buying this watch without knowing the Garmin product line, to find out afterwards that you have bought old stuff and not the latest tech available. My Marq Carbon is in the drawer, wearing my Apple Watch with ECG, LTE, apnea tracking, nice bands and sufficient sports features.
