Hello @Tux
Since this is a 3rd party app, as opposed to being Garmin developed, they would create the software for compatibility. I would recommend leaving some feedback for the developer to request Marq gen 2 compatibility. This may be something they can look to with a future app update.
Many thanks for your feedback Laurie.
First of all Garmin itself released this announcement about YouTube functionality. So the app should have been somehow in alignment between the developer (Google) and Garmin itself.
Furthermore, the compatibility to Garmin Marq Gen. 2 family should be given as the app is running on Fenix 7 and Epix 2 which is the same platform.
Can you please kindly dig a bit deeper on this subject.
Once again thank you and kind regards.
Tux
Whether or not the app 'should' be compatible with the Marq 2 as a Fenix 7 derivative, it's still down to Google/YouTube to decide and dictate exactly which devices their app will run on, so I'm not sure what else you're expecting Garmin to do here. It's a frustrating part of Marq ownership that lots of CIQ developers don't 'tick the box' to add Marq compatibility to their existing Fenix/Epix apps when sometimes that's all that's needed - but again, it's not Garmin's decision to make.
Yeah. It's just ridiculous. Marq series the high end series of Garmin watches and we don't have access to YouTube music. I also agree Garmin should lead this problem and solve quickly with Google officially.
Still nothing??
Why are you expecting something? She clearly stated that this was for Google to resolve. Even if Garmin tried they are still reliant on Google helping.
Also, judging by the reviews for the app, you're not missing much.
When you have problem with your car tyres, are you complaining to your car manufacturer or tyres manufacturer?
