Any reviews of the new carbon versions?

Sure you’ll find more similar if you search. I’d suggest that those people who are concerned about the price are not the intended market.

How are the GPS tracks in activities? Is it worth 3x thr epix?

The hardware is identical to the Epix (non-Pro), including the GPS sensor. I also own the Epix and the Epix Pro and I found the latter more accurate (though I purchased the Sapphire versions, which also include multi-band GPS). However, to answer your question, all sensors are the same as on the Epix, so the GPS tracks are no different, unless you get the Pro (in which case, the Pro is much more precise).

I don't think it's worth the price. I honestly expected more from the Carbon edition, including in terms of looks. It's cool, it feels premium, but not as premium as I expected. Probably the biggest upgrade is the weight, as the Marq feels a lot lighter on my wrist - I use it for hiking and swimming, and it feels significantly lighter than what you can see in the official specs.

I bought the Carbon specifically for the looks (I previously had the "standard" Athlete and absolutely loved it), but it's a shame Garmin didn't use latest-gen hardware. The Epix Pro is way more advanced, not to mention that it doesn't have a flashlight, which I use regularly when I wear it.

I really find it hard to justify the price considering that the only different from the non-Pro Epix is a Carbon body.

I guess they will be pretty much the same as the Marq Gen2 Watch reviews except the case is carbon. You'll either like it or you won't. I'm afraid the carbon case is not for me.

That's exactly the case. It's the same as the Marq and the Epix Gen2, as it uses the same hardware. The only notable difference is that the carbon body feels more durable. I use it for hiking, sometimes on difficult terrain, so it can scratch easily. Both the Epix Gen2 and the Pro already show signs of the paint coming off on the outer edges of the bezel (because the bezel wears a coat of paint). The carbon Marq is spotless after several intense workouts, as the bezel isn't painted but made entirely from carbon.

I also have the Carbon Athlete and I love it. For me it is the first Garmin watch that looks understated enough to wear daily. As to functions, there is indeed no difference with the Epix Gen 2 (non Pro) or the regular Marq Athlete Gen 2.

Just like instinct 2 I noticed in manual specifications that the carbon editions has a higher Max operating temperature of 60°C vs 45ºC for the titanium editions
