Do the watch bands ever go on sale?

I am enjoying my Marq a lot and would love to purchase another watchband or two from Garmin but they are PRICEY. $130 for silicon, $250 for leather hybrid, $300 for titanium and $300 for a nylon-weave strap (yikes!).

I know you can get compatible straps on Ebay for a fraction of the price but I do like the straps Garmin offers but not at their current prices (which I think are crazy expensive).

Does anyone know if these ever get coupons or if they go on sale?

  • Never seen them on sale sadly. People have good reports of using 3rd party Quick Fit bands but not sure how well they fit the contours of the Marq. The standard 22mm bands will fit but they don't look as good. Cynically speaking my guess would be that the marketing/sales people think that if you can afford to buy the watch you won't mind paying the (exorbitant) prices for the bands. Not my idea of logic!

  • I have purchased some bands from Ebay and they are fine. No complaints at all. Reasonably priced too.

You are probably correct that S&M thinks people can afford to pay a ton for the extra bands but will they? Would they want to? Spending $1800+ for the watch kind of makes sense as you are using top of the line materials and sensors. Watch bands aren't that unique and, in my opinion, shouldn't be as expensive as they are. I have a hard time justifying the spend. (hence the question)

You know... the people on these forums are the biggest fans. Maybe some coupon codes for the forum people? Grimacing

  • Since I bought an Aviator, I'm just awaiting delivery of a couple of 3rd party leather straps from Amazon. I'll let you know what they're look when I get them.

  • The OEM Marq straps are crazy expensive.  I got a few when I got the discount right after I bought my watch and I will say they are nicer.  The jacquard ones are pretty nice.  The rubber ones have the sort of molded, bent ends where it attaches to the watch.  They all look a little more premium than the regular Garmin straps for the Fenix/Epix series.  I have a ton of those that I got of Amazon for ~$10 and they all fit my Captain fine.  They just don't look quite as cohesive.

  • When you buy a MARQ or I think other Garmin products you get a welcome 10% off email after registering it. That's the best discount I've ever seen on watch bands.

  •  Yea, I bought a few straps then but now I want another one and potentially the bracelet. Ended up paying the full $129 for the silicone strap which seems crazy compared to the $10 price of the afteFlushedrmarket ones. Yes they are nicer but not $120 nicer. Flushed

  • You can get bands from official Garmin dealers often much cheaper.  E.g. First Class Watches.  They're on sale at the moment and you get an additional 10% for a first order.  Also, if you ring them you might be able to get a bigger discount although that depends on how keen they are to shift their stock.

  • Bummer they don't ship to the US
