What is the lifecycle of the Marq Aviator Gen 2, When does Gen 3 come out?

The Marq Aviator Gen 2 runs the same software as the D2 Mach 1, a watch I already own. I decided to pull the trigger on the Marq Aviator Gen 2 due to its styling improvements. My question is how often does Garmin plan to refresh this watch? Is it going to be a yearly cycle like the mainstream aviation watches or less frequently. On one hand I would definitely like to always have the latest and greatest features Garmin plans to offer, but on the other hand upgrading every year is pretty darn expensive.

It was 3.5 years between the original MARQ and the current Gen 2, which was only announced about 6 months ago. So if they stick to the same cycle, we've got another 3 years till the Gen 3 - and that's if there is one of course.

I wonder now if they would release Gen 3 sooner with a flashlight? I'm going to guess probably not with a high end (high price) product like the MARQ series and probably keep it around 3 years in between refreshes.

I really hope they do not add a flashlight. The Mark is all about premium looks, having a plastic led in the will destroy its looks. In addition I like how the silicon and titanium bracelets are attached to the case nicely wrapped around the case, giving it a nice look.

i hope they would consider an LTE based version, it would be great to be able to make phone calls when surfing sailing from the watch, so I don’t have to carry a mobile with me on the water.

I love my Marq 2, but I would really like to have 1.4" screen.

I would prefer they didn’t if it would mean increase in size of the overall watch

During what activities are you feeling the screen is to small? I find it adequate even when using it for navigation.

In general, when you start having presbyopia due to age, I would like to have a bit bigger font.

I have a Fenix 7 sapphire and am thinking of buying a Marq Aviator Gen 2 for more formal use. I'm assuming that the hardware is based more or less on the Epix 2. With the arrival of the Epix 2 Pro, does it mean that the Marq Gen 2 hardware has now become 2nd Tier?

The Pro model has a LED-flashlight and a different hearth rate sensor.

Depends what you want or need. Marq is higher class then epic. Is like asking if last years tesla model S is less then this years model 3.
