First thought after Marq v2 purchase

I was a happy Marq Athlete owner and yesterday I purchased Marq Athlete v2.

Although is a big improvement on screen, it is the same watch with almost same functionality. Thinking from investment perspective it is not a good deal.

You will spend 2K every three years to have a premium athete watch and the previous can not be sold at all. I have three months selling my Marq v1 on 40% of initial price with no proposal so far.

For premium/luxury watches like Marq series most of the owners would prefer something like the below

We could spend 2K or more for a premium watch but this price will give us the privilege to upgrade it with a reduced price when a v3 or v4 appears . This would create more happy customers.

The material is similar so the company could use the material to construct more Marq

I have a Marq Aviator 1. I'd really like the Gen 2 but I cannot justify the upgrade cost. My case and bracelet and still in excellent condition given the durability of the titanium. It would be wonderful if Garmin offered an interchangeable inner workings as an upgrade for existing customers. I accept that this is probably not economical or practical but it would make ME happy. ;)

How have you found the battery life compared with the original? I get about a week out of mine including long runs with music. I'm worried that if I upgraded to v2 I'd need to charge it too often.

Battery is better on v2.

To my understanding the battery on marq v1 was not on 100% anymore so the new battery of v2 seems to last for around 10 days, using some saving tricks at night etc.

My Gen 2 Aviator can’t go past 6 days on a charge. My setting choices are with no AOD, satellites on auto, Pulse Oximeter at night only. I workout 3 times a week (mostly jogging). I wear the watch all the time including nights. A lot of battery drainage happens at night; prob sleep tracking…

I noticed that my stress levels are higher at night than all through the day… highly doubtable that’s accurate… Because of that, my sleep score doesn’t go past 50 even with 8 hrs of sleep average a night…I think Garmin needs to rethink the algorithm imo…

Deactivate the PulseOx measurement. It is a large power consumer.

Maybe you move a lot in your sleep. Does the bracelet fit well ? The watch must have good skin contact and must not be too loose.

Strap is nice and tight. I never wore the titanium strap (I find it bulky). I wear the Italian Vachetta Leather Strap and the silicone one. Makes no difference which one I wear… The first two nights I wore the watch the sleep score was in the low 80s. After that in the 50s. I did a factory reset and the first night 78! Following nights: in the 50s again… My routine is very boring and similar everyday…

Unless something happens in my sleep and I don’t remember, I can’t have my stress level around 75 when even in the middle of the day doesn’t get that high…

I get about 10 days of battery life with my Marq 2 athlete.

No AOD, PulseOx during night, about 4-5 h of GPS per week.
