I assume this is because the watch is new. I'm missing support (ability to download and install) apps on the Marq 2 Athlete. Main app I'm looking for is Stryd Zones. Is this a Garmin issue or App Developer Issue?

Down to the App developers, assuming Garmin has added the MARQ 2 to the compatibility options for them.
I reached out to Stryd and they said they will roll out an update today for Stryd Zones.
Hmmm. They already told me that last Saturday!

Also waiting on CORE and Supersapiens to do the same. Meanwhile, at the same time I also contacted the indy developer of MyBikeRadar and he updated, recompiled and resubmitted the CIQ app to Garmin in 20 minutes (though it did then take Garmin a couple of days to publish it)
Sigh. I wont get my hopes up then.

Today comes an update. Now for the Marq gen 2
It's available now, and has been since Nov 26
Are you able to configure so that the stryd is used for pace (treadmill)?
Works fine for me. I use stryd for pace and distance always (whether treadmill or outdoors).
Thanks. On my Fenix 6 I used it for pace and distance as well however on the Marq 2 I seem to be able to only pair stryd but not use it for pace or distance. On the treadmill I find the Marq 2 all over the place even after calibrating it.
