Instinct Solar is Randomly Freezing on Software v13.20

A new Instinct Beta software Update was just released today that will resolve the random freezing issue. For those that prefer to install the Beta and test the Beta vs. waiting for the official release, here is the v14.00 Beta:

Is your Instinct Solar randomly freezing? IE: Your time gets stuck for long periods of time and you notice it was wrong. When frozen, you then either must press any button or sometimes hold down your top left CTRL button to soft reset your watch.

If you are experiencing any type of frozen type behavior, please post to this thread so we can accurately track this issue. We are actively collecting examples to provide our engineers actively looking into the issue. Thank you!

  • This procedure fixed my freezed watch: 

    1.Ensure the watch is powered off.

    2.Press and hold Down/ABC, GPS, and Back/Set

    3.Power the watch on while holding these buttons

    3.After the first beep release Start

    5.After the second beep release the remaining buttons

    The watch should now be reset.

  • On my second Solar for the exact same issue. Last night my replacement Solar froze at 2:23AM. On both Solars, the freezes always occur in the early morning hours.
    This is has occurred on every firmware since I purchased the watch last Fall.

  • Alternatively, press CTRL and SET at the same time. This turns the watch off. Then press CTRL to turn it back on.

  • I am sorry you are experiencing the random freezing issue. We intend to have the issue resolved with the next software update. It will be released as soon as possible but needs to be thoroughly tested first.

  • I'm on my 3rd Instinct Solar Standard. Freezing problem keeps occurring.  Running 13.20. Can't figure out how to get the 14.0 update which supposedly fixes this issue?!!

  • Froze during run. App and phone worked and was tracking my HRM Pro but the Garmin Instinct Solar Tactical completely froze and needed to be reset in the middle of run by holding CTRL. Lost all data from that run prior to reset. Makes me think the think the daily charging of the Apple Watch wasn’t so bad since I never had any issues when wearing the Apple Watch. This is the second time my Garmin completely spazzed out on me this month. Unacceptable. And yes it is on the latest update (17.00 by todays date).
