The heart rate font on the single paramtter board is too small.

Can you make that when I display my heart rate while running it will be maxed out?
Few people run with reading glasses and many people have a visual impairment. It's supposed to be a lot like an elephant. Readability should be extreme, after all, when we run we are in motion? The display on the Instict 2 Solar is quite small - but nothing prevents those digits from being two/three times larger.
Thank you on behalf of all those with poor eyesight.

This is what you should do in every watch, and I can't fathom why the company has been developing equipment for so many years and hasn't figured out that a larger font is more readable.

  • Instinct has MIP display. So it will drain more battery because more pixels need to be updated.

  • Then let it consume!!!!
I have a charger at home, it is not a problem.

At home ? I am sometimes on the road for days. That's exactly the idea behind Instinct. Long battery life.

  • Are you a troll? Don't you understand that the letters are too small and people who have worse eyesight have a problem because they can't see?

If you want to solve the problem of energy efficiency then start your own thread. For people with poor eyesight, let them function normally.

You obviously didn't read my post properly. I have no problem with battery consumption. But there would be a problem if you were updating unnecessarily large numbers of pixels every second. THAT would increase battery consumption considerably. The point of the Instinct - to be one of the most power efficient OUTDOOR watches would be compromised.
The Instinct is classified in the OUTDOOR watch segment. NOT in the sports/fitness segment.
If you want to stay with the Instinct series, there is also the Instinct 2x. This has a larger display.

I need a watch that can last for days on a multiday trip. THAT is how this watch is advertised and what its intended use is. And that's what this watch currently is. And I assume that the majority of people who buy this device need exactly that.

  • Why then the power save watchface has such a big time display clock and not tiny?

  • Why then the power save watchface has such a big time display clock and not tiny?

Because the display there is only updated once a minute, and not every second like the heart rate display during activity.

A MIP display consumes power when the display changes. Static displays do not consume any power.

With the same number of pixels displayed, a display that changes every second consumes 60 times more power than a display that only changes once a minute.

    …“

    1. Power Efficiency: The biggest advantage of MIP technology is its power efficiency. Since pixels only need power during the change of state (not while maintaining an image), the overall power consumption is significantly lower than traditional displays. This is especially beneficial for devices displaying static images for long periods, like e-readers.
    2. Display Content Update: When an update to the display is required (e.g., turning a page on an e-reader), the processor sends new data to the pixels. Only the pixels that change state will consume power during this process.“…

  • I agree, having a zoom in/zoom out functionality would be great for the data fields. The amount of power drained on an MIP display for rapidly changing data is  miniscule when compared to how much the GPS would drain during a workout.

I can't agree with that. When I first got my fenix, I made the mistake of having the map page constantly displayed. I was amazed at how quickly the battery ran out. When I then found out that it was due to the constant updating of the MIP display, I only called up the map page when necessary during the next activities. That made a huge difference. With the same GPS settings.

But once again, no one obliges you to buy an ADVENTURE watch (that's how Garmin classifies it) whose main features are robustness and battery life if you don't care about battery life because you only do short runs and recharge the watch at home.

    Then let it consume!!!!

If you have poor eyesight, there are much better options. For example, a forerunner with an Amoled display.

Larger display, better resolution, larger data, better contrast, more colors.

All I want to say here is that Garmin offers a wide variety of watches for different purposes. And everyone has the choice to buy a model that meets their requirements. You know that the Instinct has a small display and is not primarily a running watch before you buy it when you visit the product page.

    just my two cents
