Garmin problems...

It is incredible when they do not like something that we have as consultants that we are, they block it....
I base myself on all the posts that I have read in this forum, I have been reading in each forum for months referring to these two problems that garmin watches present, not only what is written here but in forums outside of this platform, there are dissatisfied people who received up to 3 replacement units with the same problems until they decided to change brands. They are expensive toys, and for what one invests, I think the minimum is that they fulfill their function perfectly... thanks

The likelihood that the springbar gets magnetized on a trip is close to zero (that rather happens close to loudspeakers, and other sources of EM radiation), so if you assure your springbar and the compass are all right before starting your trip, you'll be almost certainly fine all along the trip. And even if the springbar gets magentized, if you prevent that it turns (in emergency a drop of resin can do the trick), and calibrate the compass, it will work fine too. Better though, if you have magnetized springbars, contact the Support and have them exchanged for a newer type that should be more resistant against magnetizing.

Personally, I have Instinct 2 since more than a year, calibrated it once, and it still shows the north as accurately as after the initial calibration, without having to redo it at all.
