Garmin problems...

It is incredible when they do not like something that we have as consultants that we are, they block it....
I base myself on all the posts that I have read in this forum, I have been reading in each forum for months referring to these two problems that garmin watches present, not only what is written here but in forums outside of this platform, there are dissatisfied people who received up to 3 replacement units with the same problems until they decided to change brands. They are expensive toys, and for what one invests, I think the minimum is that they fulfill their function perfectly... thanks

  • I do not know what problem you refer to, but here on the forum I see only those threads closed that offer a solution or a final answer, or threads with abusive behavior violating the forum rules. If any of your questions was not answered, feel free to open a new thread.

  • Hello, I refer to my last post, where I ask about the problems with the compass and buttons, I opened a new post since that same one was closed and I can't respond, it is evident that it bothers them that users complain about the malfunction of the teams, it doesn't matter.

  • Well, if you are not satisfied with the watch design, return it and get another model. If there are really design issues you cannot live with, those are usually not fixable with a software update, so you better chose a different model.

  • Well, yes every one can choose a different model as far they are aware of the problems.

Forums and reviews are a service to the public and should never be censoring.

  • Did they censor some of your posts?

No. It was not edited but it was locked after this thread OP gave factually wrong information.

Not directed at trux but for anyone else that comes across this thread:

If you review our forums over the years, the largest forum threads with dozens of pages of posts and comments still exist. We do not erase history or make excuses when there are issues. We continually work to fix issues and improve our devices.

Also, each outdoor segment watch software update is posted at the top of each forum. We note not only improvements made but the bug fixes made in each new software update. Across our forums, old posts going back 5+ years can still be searched and pulled up. We are quite transparent for a tech company.

  • I am sorry you have had issues with your Instinct Solar surf watches. Please note, I am moving this thread to the Instinct 2 forum since you have posted in our Enduro 2 forum.

I highly recommend you reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region to have your concerns addressed. My sincere apologies your own experiences have not been positive with your Instinct series surf watches.

Could you please work on adding an option which would allow global deactivation of backlight, since that doesn't exist at the moment - i.e. backlight comes on after alarm ignoring all backlight settings. I realise you said it's a feature because they all do it, but just because something happens across the board doesn't mean it makes sense. Please and thank you.

  • Doesn't really matters.

People frequently get criticized in this forum for people that doesn't have problems but they shouldn't.

     Just that.

I'm a happy owner of a F1( retired) and a Fenix 5x looking forward to buy a new watch but due to compass and buttons problems and the lack of Garmin's positioning I've put that on hold, unfortunately.

No other brand offers what Garmin offers but to buy a new ABC watch without a reliable compass is a non sense.

    Regards,

    Regards,

The compass on Instinct 2 is reliable, except if the bottom springbar holding the wristband gets magnetized and rotates slightly. If you have problems with the compass, remove the springbars and test again. If it confirms the springbars are the culprit, demagnetize or replace them.
