Instinct Crossover Solar Scratches on Screen (part 2)

Managed to get a pic of scratches on my crossover’s screen. As I said in my last post these are only visible under certain lighting conditions and at a certain angle.

The watch itself is not treated roughly at all and I’ve no idea what could be causing these scratches, but the screen/lense should not be this easy to scratch Smirk

  • I concur. Everyone who is not putting a screen protector on his watch should stop whining after they encounter scratches that appear out of thin air. Best part is when they claim that they never did anything that could cause these scratches and try to blame Garmin or any other brand that they wrongly advertised their product as rugged. Rugged doesn't mean fool-proofed. Even saphire can get scratched. In the last 10 years I owned probably 15+ different Garmin watches and bands and learned a thing or two about the use of screen protectors. When my Instinct 2X arrived, it was outfitted with one in the first few minutes after unboxing it....just saying!

  • My crossover solar also scratched - once when I wiped dust off of the crystal.  Could only see it from certain angles.  Annoyed me so much that I removed the soft coating and all is well.  The coating is very soft.  The coating seems to help with solar charging because I seldom get to 100% in a car anymore like I used to - but no statistics to verify.  I'd rather not have the scratched coating than 100% charging.
