Instinct 2S Solar - Compass doesn't work

Hi All. I just obtained my brand new Garmin watch and reveal that compass doesn't work at all. It isn't moving, always 000. I tried to calibrate it, but calibration process seems to be infinite. It just displays calibration hint endlessly, no reaction to movements. Is this factory defect or i have missed some configuration? The Garmin Connect says firmware is up to date (current revision is 5.21) All other functions seems to be fine.

Check out the following thread, if it is not your case too: Compass sensor affected by the springbars

Although I would not expect the problem at a brand new watch with the original wristband, perhaps it got magnetized somewhere during the shipment. Worth of testing it without the wristband and springbars anyway. If it does not help, I'd have it replaced.
