Backlight during sleep

Not sure I understand. You have the backlight permanently on during sleep, or do you want to disable it completely? Normally, the backlight is on, only when you press a button (or turn on by the gesture), and normally it is especially during the night that you may need to look at the watch with the backlight on, so I do not think it would be wise turning it off completely, without any possibility to see the display in the night. Or is it really what you wish to have?

Anyway, there is the Power Manager where you can edit the Battery Saver mode, turning the backlight off (otherwise using the full mode for other features, if you wish it so), and enabling it during sleep hours

I usually only like to manually click the button at night to turn on backlight if I need to look at the time. 

so my goal setup is Not using battery saver during sleep but also Not having backlight auto turn on - Only via a manual press of the button. 

there are some new settings I’m not familiar with 

last night at around 2330, my backlight kept coming on with button press and gesture even though all my backlight setting are set to “off”. I do not have a setting option in > backlight > during sleep > to turn off backlight like i

You did not show whether the Gesture Option is turned on or off in the General Use menu. Since you cannot override it in the sleep mode, the general setting will be used.

I have it in this way, and my watch does not react on the gesture, when not in an activity. However, I use the beta firmware since weeks, and do not remember how it was with the last regular firmware.
