This seems to be a known issue but I've been unable to find a solution to it.
My Fenix8 is bought in Europa and I currently reside in China. I've downloaded the TopoActive China Mainland map using Garmin Express. Whenever I make a course using the Garmin Connect, my position is inevitably offset on the map, making it impossible to follow the courses.
If I open the course in the Garmin Connect mobile app, I can click the menu option "Reposition Course on Map" and it aligns correctly with the map. Annoyingly, this never transfers to the watch. I can see the route snap into alignment on the phone map, but it always remains offset when I actually want to use it on the watch.
Courses saved via Strava are not offset on the map. I don't have Strava premium, so my trial of making courses is no longer accessible, but I'm considering getting Strava Premium only because Garmin's native course planning doesn't seem to work here.
I'd be very happy if Garmin or anyone else has a solution to this.
