Screen protector

Has anyone found a good screen protector for a Fenix 8 Amuled.  Ive tried several (5) different makes and they have all either cracked, or start to peel after a week or so.  The screen protectors on my Fenix 3 and 6 lasted a year or so before they needed replacing - thanks

  • Hi, Im using that one:

    Very satisfied with it.

  • Thanks Herbert - i'll give it a try

  • This one fits perfectly(1.4"). I bought a 5 pack when I got my F8 Amoled 47mm during the first week it launched. It is still perfectly adhered and I don't baby it. I'm thinking I may not ever use the other 4 and should have just got one lol...

  • Hello. While ultimately using a screen protector is your choice, Use of third-party protectors could have an adverse effect on the performance of your device including:

    • Display visibility.
    • Touch screen performance.
    • Lens damage during installation or removal.
    • Reduced solar performance on watches that feature Power GlassTm or Power SapphireTm solar charging lenses.

If damage occurs as a result of using a third-party anti-glare screen protector, the device will not be covered under Garmin's warranty.

  • On the other hand, if I understand correctly, Garmin's warranty doesn't cover screen scratches anyway, so you are on your own regardless of whether you use a protector or not?

  • Such a stupid policy imo. No other company seems to care but you guys. Just another reason I am moving on from Garmin and giving my money to a competitor going forward.

  • Well, actually other companies have similar limitations as well:

Samsung: "What is NOT covered by your warranty ... Use of products, equipment, systems, utilities, services, parts, supplies, accessories, applications, installation, repairs, external wiring, connectors not supplied and/or authorized by Samsung, or which damage this product or result in service problems." (i.e. damage caused by third party screen protectors is not covered)

Apple: "If the glass on your Apple Watch gets damaged, we can service it for a fee. Accidental damage isn't covered by the Apple warranty." (so a damage caused by a third party screen protector is not covered, nor is any other accidental damage.)

So, actually, practically no matter what device you own, if you use a screen protector not specifically accepted by the device manufacturer, it's on you if the protector causes damage. Which is logical, since the manufacturer doesn't wanto to categorically provide warranty for something it doesn't even know about.

But notice that what Garmin stated above is that IF your watch gets damaged BECAUSE of a screen protector (not likely, but let's say the screen get scratches or non-removable smudges), it's on you. Not that using a screen protector would automatically void all warranty.

  • Thank you to everyone that has replied.  I shall try the alternatives suggested and see how they perform.  I understand that a manufacturer cannot provide a warranty against me sticking 3rd party products (and Ive yet to see Garmin or Apple approved protectors) on their screens, however, my experience suggests that it will remain amongst the first things i do when taking a new c.£1000 smart phone or watch, out of the box. I appreciate all your comments -thank you.
