Garmin Express Manage Maps error

I've just tried the Map Manager on the watch itself and I get the error "Map Sync Failed".  Looks like this issue isn't limited to Garmin Express.

Check if your watch is fully registered at Garmin.com.

Thank you for the reply. ChatGPT put me onto this as a possible reason and I think you’re both right. My Fenix 8 doesn’t show on my list of registered products, and if I try to register manually I get an error message. 

I’ve spent much of the afternoon on chat with Garmin and the very helpful support person discovered that my watch is failing to register on one of their systems. Ultimately he was unable to resolve it today but I now have a case raised. 

i suspect the issue may have been caused by the fact that my account should have been deleted due to a long period of inactivity. I bought the Fenix 8 and was expecting to have to create a new account but the old one logged in fine so I just used that.

Took Garmin support almost two months to work this out for me.

Now that they have the fix, expect them to sort this out fairly quick.

ps.I don`t think using an old account has anything to do with this.I had the same issue on my account, where I have another watch registered with no problems.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed. Have you got any details on what the fix was that I could pass to support?
