Fēnix 8 – Lighter Patch Appearing on Display After 7 Days

Hi all,

I’ve been wearing my Garmin Fēnix 8 for about a week (7 days) and noticed a strange lighter patch or path on the display, which is especially visible when the screen is off or viewed from an angle.

I’ve tried gently cleaning the screen, but it doesn’t seem to be dirt, grease, or residue. It looks like something internal—maybe a screen defect or display layer issue?

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any advice on whether this is a common issue or if I should initiate a warranty claim would be appreciated.

I'm sure this isn't it, but just to check that there isn't a screen protector on the watch.

from the above photo, I could "feel" there's a thin protective tamper glass (on the left side with white edges), could you try to peel it?

Thanks for answers. I already started a warranty claim. In shop I was told that there should not be any other layer than the glass.

I wish I can help. From the photo, your Fenix 8 is stainless steel bezel, looks like it's of Corning Gorilla Glass, that's why I suspect there's thin screen protector to protect it from scratch.

Appreciate the input! Just to clarify, the screen should actually be sapphire. I bought the fēnix® 8 – 51 mm, AMOLED Sapphire, Titanium / Brown Leather Band version, which comes with a sapphire crystal display—not Gorilla Glass. It’s designed to be much more scratch-resistant, so I wouldn’t expect a screen protector to be necessary.
