Android battery drain on connect App.

I bought a new Fenix 8 amoled two days ago and yesterday I found the phone turned off due to a 0 battery. Looking at the battery statistics I discovered that the cause is the Garmin Connect application that has consumed more than 25% of the battery. The consumption with my old Fenix 6X connected all day was around 1-2%. I set the Fenix 8 exactly like the 6X, with the same active sensors, and the same notifications.
In detail I noticed that with the Fenix 8 connected there was a data exchange significantly higher than that of the 6X but above all a very intense and prolonged CPU activity compared to the few minutes of the 6X.

The problem disappeared by itself after restarting the phone. I did not do anything to Connect, nor to the application cache. It simply started working normally again.

I'm not sure if it's because of the fenix 8: I too notice a considerable increase in battery usage by Garmin Connect Mobile, but on the other hand I have been using my fenix 8 since the end of September 2024 without having this problem, which started... with the 5.14 update of Garmin Connect Mobile two days ago!

My battery drain on the S25 Ultra from the Connect app is daily around 0,5-1%. Try updating Google Play..

Remove the old watch from Garmin Connect and phone's Bluetooth listed devices.

I had the same issue. After you've done the above, you can also force stop the Garmin Connect and delete the cache.
